This is one of the biggest shrines in Kawaguchi. It is very spacious and full of greenery.

Former Tanaka Family Residence

旧田中家住宅

This Western-style building was built by a merchant in Kawaguchi about 100 years ago. It has a beautiful garden and a tea house.

Hatogaya-Hikawa Shrine

鳩ケ谷氷川神社

This shrine is dedicated to the god who protects the Hatogaya area. The omikuji (fortune slips) and omamori (amulets) with a dove design are very cute.

Akayama Castle Site

赤山城址

This is the site of the castle of the Ina clan, who ruled the Kanto region during the Edo Period. The area is full of greenery and the cherry blossoms are beautiful in spring.

Saifukuji Temple

西福寺

The three-story pagoda is about 23 meters tall, making it the tallest wooden building in the prefecture. The cherry blossoms are beautiful in spring.

The house ran a textile business in the Meiji Era. It has a beautiful garden. You can even go inside to take a look around.
